Internships
The ICA&CA provides temporary positions with an emphasis on on-the-job training for individuals considering professional careers in the fields of classical art and architecture. Interns are usually college students, but they can also be high school students or post graduate adults seeking skills for a new career. Our interns are provided modest stipends for travel and meals. Typically they are part-time during the academic year and full-time in the summer, and they typically last 6 – 12 weeks.
Historic Plaster Cast Restoration in the Studio of Foster Reeve
This internship will focus on techniques used in the restoration and preservation of plaster casts from the ICA & CA’s historic collection. Instruction will be held at the studio of Foster Reeve in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Using actual damaged historic castings, the master restoration staff of Foster Reeve will guide interns through a series of hands-on exercises designed to familiarize students with the materials and methods of plaster restoration.
Arts Administration: Research and Project Management
This internship will focus on developing the organizational, critical thinking and time management skills needed to develop and launch projects and programs specific to not-for-profit educational and cultural organizations.
