Cast Drawing & Painting • Camie Davis
July 6 - July 17 (10 days)

This Cast Drawing workshop will focus on enabling artists to think sculpturally while modeling their drawings, a method that encourages a three dimensional understanding of the cast as opposed to a two dimensional copying of values. The result is a deeper and more accurate understanding of the cast that can also translate into a deeper understanding of any subject and results in drawings that are more true to life. Summer Intensive • Jacob Collins

June 1 - June 26 (20 days)

The four week Summer Intensive is an introduction to classical academic drawing.  Students will work from antique casts and the live model. Instructiors will address the fundamentals required to make a clear and accurate drawing.  Establishing proportions and conceptualizing form will carry the artist’s cast and figure drawings to a highly resolved finish.  The student will gain greater technical facility and a deeper understanding of the Classical tradition.

Jacob Collins will lecture one day per week. Camie Davis, Nicholas Hiltner, and Sam Wisneski will work with students full-time in the studio. Download Materials List
