In 1984, Ken Tate Architect was established in Mississippi as a practice focused on the demand for traditional houses. The firm grew to become an important regional practice, winning numerous awards, and appearing
frequently in both local and national media. Projects included well over fifty built residences, ranging from a monumental Palladian villa in Baton Rouge, to an expansive Norman French estate on 2000 acres of prairie.
In 1999, the firm relocated near New Orleans, and has since taken commissions in a wider variety of styles, including an Adirondack golf club, a modern beach house, Georgian Mansions, an Italian townhouse, and a French Colonial compound. Recent projects have taken the firm to such locales as Austin, Old Brookline, Denver, the North Carolina Highlands, Belle Meade, and Rosemary Beach.
A list of the firm’s more important media coverage, including books, magazines and trade publications, can be found on their website.
