The tomb of Francois II, Duke of Brittany, and tomb of wife, Marguerite de Foix

Description:

Cast of the tomb shows a statuette of a king in the niche and a mourning monk in the medallion. The cast represents one half of the sarcophagus’ back end.

Provenance: Metropolitan Museum of Art

Condition: Figure is loose and wobbles while the back is stable. The cast has been thoroughly cleaned.
