Discover Classical New York: Edwin Howland Blashfield’s “The Graduate” and the Campus of The City College of New YorkRegister Now!

ICA&CA Members-Only Tour
Author and historian Mina Rieur Weiner begins this tour with a viewing of Edwin Howland Blashfield’s masterpiece, “The Graduate” (1907 – 08), located in Shepard Hall’s Great Hall on the campus of City College. The excursion continues with an architectural walking tour of Shepard Hall, the neo-gothic building designed by George Browne Post, and the College’s Hamilton Heights neighborhood. Peter Gisolfi and Marta Gutman will lead the walking tour, which includes a discussion of Post’s original campus plan. Mr. Gisolfi is an architect/landscape architect and professor and Chairman of the Spitzer School of Architecture at the College. Dr. Gutman, historian and licensed architect, teaches architectural and urban history at the Spitzer School of Architecture.
