Discover Classical New York: Tuxedo Park Spring House Tour

Saturday, April 10; 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

Tuxedo Club, John Russell Pope, architect. Photo by James Bleecker Co-Sponsored by the Tuxedo Historical Society

As Tuxedo Park remains private, inaccessible to the public, this event gives admission to the architecture treasures and natural beauty that lie ‘behind the gates.’

This special event, reserved for Institute members, features guided tours of the Tuxedo Club and the Tuxedo Tennis Club as well as two private residences, the Pierre Lorillard Carriage House (original architect is unknown but it was renovated by Warren & Wetmore in 1905) and another private residence to be announced. The tour begins with a buffet and illustrated talk on the history and houses of Tuxedo Park by Christian R. Sonne, co-editor of Tuxedo Park: The Historic Houses and Town of Tuxedo Historian and concludes with a reception.

Cost/Learning Unit: By invitation only for Donor-level members and above. Cost for this tour upon request. To upgrade your membership or to learn more, please call Sara Durkacs, Director of Membership, at (212) 730-9646, ext. 106. 5 AIA/CES LUs (Theory).
