Lecture IV – Part of the 2009 Fellows’ Summer Lecture Series:
The Hudson River Valley: An Allegory of its Architecture, Landscape and Artistic Legacy, 400 Years After the Voyage of the Half Moon

Michael Middleton Dwyer, architect and editor (Great Houses of the Hudson River, Bullfinch Press, 2001), will discuss the history of the historic Greek revival house, Edgewater, located in Barrytown, New York, as well as the history of the owners and architects who altered and renovated it over the years. Dwyer will also discuss the design and construction of two new garden pavilions that he designed for the surrounding gardens as part of a historic continuum of classical design characterizing the Hudson River Valley.
