The ICA&CA’s award winning journal, The Classicist, is the only North American journal exclusively dedicated to the theory and practice of contemporary classicism in architecture, urbanism, and the allied arts. Featuring essays and portfolios of professional and student work, The Classicist was created to provide a forum not available in any other publication for students, practitioners, and enthusiasts of the classical tradition. Launched in 1994, and supported by generous sponsorship funding, the volunteer editorial committee has produced seven issues; the first three of which are out of print today. In 2002, in honor of the Institute’s 10th Anniversary the editorial committee produced A Decade of Art & Architecture 1992-2002, which was a special hard-cover book created for the occasion. Today a professional staff is taking the editorial lead with an eye towards making The Classicist a formal peer-review journal.
