Description: The Parthenon friezes, originally encircling the entire building, represent the Panathenaic procession, a ritual homage to Athena. Unlike many other temple decorations, the friezes depict mortals and not only gods and goddesses. The portion of the frieze comes from the North side and depicts several horses and riders.
