Description: The original of this cast also appears on the south wall of the Parthenon as part of the Centauromachy series. The collection of metopes, friezes appearing between triglyphs, tells the story of the Centaurs’ defeat at the hands of the Lapiths. The original portrays a draped male figure battling a Centaur. Both figures are headless.
