Please join the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, Southeast Chapter for a morning of measured drawing and field sketching at Philip Shutze’s May Patterson Goodrum House. The house is said to Mr. Shutze’s favorite commission and will serve as the venue for the study. There will be a brief lecture and introduction on the lineage and techniques of measured drawing. Instruction and guidance will be provided during the self-directed drawing portion of the course. Space is limited.
Part I - Introduction Lecture - The Architect's Measured SketchbookCameron and Clay will give a brief introduction to the history of measured field drawings as done by architects past and present, along with a step-by-step methodology on how to set up a field drawing.
Part II - Field Drawing at the May Patterson Goodrum House, Atlanta, GAParticipants will make measured field drawings at the Goodrum House.
