Hosted by the Washington Mid Atlantic Chapter
Hosted by the L’Enfants
Open to all ICAA members, Columns & Coffee is a monthly social sketching excursion, in which artists and architects are invited to connect, chat, sketch, and visit local architectural gems. This month, in honor of the John Russell Pope Awards, we will be visiting Pope’s Meridian House. Built for US Ambassador Irwin Laughlin in the 1920s, this historic Beaux-Arts home has been the headquarters of the Meridian International Center since 1960. Despite this transition and later renovations, much of its exquisite art and architectural detailing has been preserved.
Participants should be prepared to bring their own materials. We will meet at the ThreeFifty Bakery and Coffee Bar at the corner of U and 17th Streets NW at 9:30am. We will be sketching at Meridian House from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
This event is hosted by an ICAA Chapter. Please check the Chapter website, or contact the Chapter directly, for the most up-to-date details including dates, times, and pricing.
