Please join the Chicago ICAA for a tour of Galloy & Van Etten Stone Shop followed by some cocktails and light bites at Horse Thief Hollow in Beverly.
Established in 1899 by 18-year-old Dutch immigrant Abram Van Etten, Galloy & Van Etten is a family owned stone company proud to be woven into Chicago’s history for more than 120 years. Tour the 20,000-square-foot limestone fabrication shop complete with a gangsaw for slabbing blocks, as well as bridge saws and a CNC machine. Participants will see the stone planers in action and view a stone-carving demonstration followed by a hands-on opportunity to carve limestone themselves.
