Hosted by the Washington Mid Atlantic Chapter
Columns & Coffee is a monthly social sketching excursion led by the L'Enfants, the emerging architects branch of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, Washington Mid Atlantic Chapter. Anyone with an interest in sketching and/or connecting with other artists and architects are encouraged to attend. This month, the group will be sketching indoors at the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA). The firm of Wood, Donn & Deming designed this building, which opened in 1908 as the headquarter of Washington’s Grand Masonic Lodge. Since 1987, it has been occupied by the NMWA. The interior features an ornate Grand Hall and mezzanines, as well as an auditorium space for private events.
Participants should be prepared to bring their own materials. The group will meet at the Starbucks at H and 14th at 10:00 AM and will be sketching for about 2.5-3 hours. All are welcome to come and go as they please.
