Hosted by the Washington Mid Atlantic Chapter
Columns & Coffee is a monthly social sketching excursion led by the L'Enfants, the emerging architects branch of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, Washington Mid Atlantic Chapter. Anyone with an interest in sketching and/or connecting with other artists and architects are encouraged to attend. This month, we will be touring the interior of the Anderson House. Attendees may consider doing quick vignette sketches while touring, but most of our sketching time will be spent outside (weather-permitting).
Designed by the Boston-based firm Little & Brown, the historic Beaux-Arts mansion opened in 1905 as the winter residence of American diplomat Larz Anderson. Anderson was a member of the Society of the Cincinnati - America’s oldest patriotic organization - and donated the museum to that organization after his death. We will meet at Soho Tea & Coffee at P and 22nd at 9:45 AM. Please note the earlier-than-normal meeting time in order to join the first tour at 10:15 AM.
This event is hosted by an ICAA Chapter. Please check the Chapter website, or contact the Chapter directly, for the most up-to-date details including dates, times, and pricing.
