    Case Studies in New Classical & Traditional Design: Affordable Housing 101

    In this video presentation, Mallory Muse, Vice President of Community Development at the Muse Family Foundation, provides an overview of the unique challenges of designing and building high-quality affordable housing.

    Learning Objectives

    • Identify what defines affordable housing, and the ways in which access to dignified--or undignified--affordable housing impacts occupants' physical, emotional, and social well-being.
    • Explore the history of affordable housing in the United States (in particular governmental programs such as HOPE VI), their successes and failures in improving community welfare, and the ways in which architects, developers, and builders can utilize these programs.

    Assessment & Credit

    Viewers may receive 0.25 AIA CES Learning Units|HSW and 0.25 credits towards the Certificate in Classical Architecture (Elective) by watching this video course and subsequently answering all questions correctly on a summative assessment that tests your understanding of the material.
