More Beautiful: All-American Decoration, with Mark D. Sikes

Hosted by the Southern California Chapter in Collaboration with the National Office

    By ICAA

    June 8, 2021

On May 19th, 2021, the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) was pleased to welcome interior designer Mark D. Sikes for a tour through his latest book, More Beautiful: All-American Decoration, as part of a collaborative lecture co-hosted by the National Office and the Southern California Chapter. In this presentation, available to watch in full, Mark reveals his sources of long-time inspiration and shows a glimpse into his creative process. He shares his favorite rooms — all of which are light-filled and crisply patterned, chic yet comfortable, and just the way people want to live today. Finally, he offers a peak at what is new and upcoming from this esteemed design firm.

Mark D. Sikes is an esteemed interior designer and tastemaker working on projects throughout the United States. He is known for all-American sensibilities and a fresh take on classical aesthetics. Mark has a talent for creating beautiful and timeless interiors that embody an indoor/outdoor lifestyle.

Mark’s work has been featured in AD, Veranda, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, The Wall Street Journal, C Magazine, Milieu, and Domino, and he is a member of the AD100 list and Elle Decor’s A-List. His rooms for the Kips Bay Show House in New York, Greystone in Beverly Hills, the Southern Living Show House in Birmingham, the Coastal Living Show House in Newport, and, most recently, the inaugural Kips Bay in Dallas, have been much celebrated. Mark has partnered with the best manufacturers in furniture and fabric to develop his signature product lines including Chaddock, Soane, Hudson Valley Lighting, Troy Lighting, Schumacher, Annie Selke, Merida and Blue Pheasant. Mark’s first book, Beautiful, was a New York Times best seller and his highly anticipated new book, More Beautiful, from Rizzoli just debuted in September of 2020.
