Hosted by the Texas Chapter
Join the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, Texas Chapter for a weekend of events to celebrate and explore San Antonio's heritage of the baroque decorative arts.
Spanning from early Spanish colonial influences to the expansive 20th century work of Hannibal Pianta, this evolving decorative tradition has contributed to San Antonio's cultural and physical identity and continues today. During this two day symposium, these traditions will be studied through plein-air water color sessions looking at different periods of this tradition's influence on the city, a lecture and exhibit on one of the local historic master craftsman, tours of historic examples of Pianta's work, and receptions celebrating the city's rich heritage.
