Learning Objectives

  1. Students will be provided with an overview of the language and rationale of classical architecture.
  2. Students will receive an overview of a practical shortlist of key reference literature on classical architecture.
  3. By the end of this course, participants will have a basic understanding the core metaprinciples that distinguish classical architecture from modernist architecture.
  4. By the end of this course, participants will have become familiar with the core elements that comprise the classical language of architecture.
  5. Students will acquire an understanding of several important reasons for the success and enduring value of the classical language of architecture.
