Please join us for a workshop in graphite rendering. This class is designed for beginners to professionals looking to develop and enhance their skills. Using the constructed perspective of a Shingle style house as our framework, you will learn how to add lineweight and texture to bring depth and clarity to your drawings. Working from loose sketches to more refined, we will cover different ways to express linework, methods of adding texture, creating depth and contrast with shade and shadow, and the addition of landscape entourage to reinforce the drawing’s composition. Examples of different rendering techniques will be provided to allow participants to develop their own style over the course of the workshop.
Calla Chang received her Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame. While in the University’s classically-based program, she was trained in the techniques of architectural watercolor wash rendering originating from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Currently practicing Architects at Hart Howerton Architects, she continues to build her knowledge of classical design and use wash rendering among other techniques for project presentations.
