At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1)Explain the unique nature of Palladio’s treatise.
2) Explain why and how Palladio’s treatise has had such a huge impact on western architectural thought and American architecture.
3) Explain how Palladio allowed and even encouraged innovation and variety in classical architecture while working within the “rules of the art,” as he says.
4) Explain the differences between the 1738 English edition and the 1997 edition.
