Giving Orders To Your Interiors

Introduction to basic tools used to articulate interior elevations, using moulding and trim systems, grounded in the Classical Orders. We will review the proportional systems of the various orders and walk students through the creation of interior elevation implementation of moulding applications with appropriate proportions.

Students will also be introduced to some creative interpretations of the rules, to either navigate around existing conditions or create an expression, still grounded in tradition

Instructor: John James Toya has been practicing architecture since Keith Kirley and Megan Leicht received their Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame. While in the University’s program focused on architectural traditions, they were trained in the art of hand drafting and rendering. Kirley Architects builds upon these techniques, using available software, to effectively communicate with clients and contractors through design presentations and sketches done on site.
