A self-diagnosed châteaux addict, award-winning designer, Timothy Corrigan, is a rare individual who acquires properties out of a love of French stones and patrimony rather then a practical need. His passion for the restoration process has ushered him through the personal purchase and renovation of four historical landmarks, each unique in its history, architectural style, and set of challenges, and garnered him an award from the French Heritage Society. Join us as Timothy recounts the lively tales of his restorations and how he has mastered the balance of respecting the past while making these grand homes comfortable, welcoming, and livable for today.
Timothy Corrigan is one of the world’s leading interior designers. With offices in Los Angeles and Paris, his firm has completed projects in Europe, the Middle East, and across the United States. He is the only American honored by the French Heritage Society for his restoration of several national landmarks in France. The firm’s work has been featured in over 1000 publications worldwide, and has earned him the Design Icon Award, the ICAA Southern California Chapter's Legacy Award, Star of Design, and spots on Architectural Digest’s AD100, the Elle Decor A-List, Robb Report’s Top 40 Designers in the World, and the Luxe Gold List.
Timothy has designed licensed collections for Schumacher, Perennials, Samuel & Sons, Royal Limoges, THG-Paris, and Fromental. His best-selling book, An Invitation to Château du Grand-Lucé, chronicles the restoration of his landmark château in France. His second book, The New Elegance: Stylish, Comfortable Rooms for Today, features 11 of Timothy’s projects around the world, and highlights the building blocks for successful decoration.
Both books will be available for purchase following the lecture.
This lecture is presented as part of The Françoise and Andrew Skurman Lecture Series on Classical French Architecture.
