Gallery Sketching: Classical Architecture, Interiors, and Landscapes

The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art New England Chapter, in alliance with the Museum of Fine Arts, offers an opportunity to explore Classical architecture through this gallery sketching course, developing techniques and skills using graphite pencils and charcoal. Drawings, paintings, sculpture, and architectural masterworks throughout the Museum serve as study subjects, enabling you to comprehend and experience the rules and principles of Classical design.
At the end of the event participants will be able to:
Develop critical visual and illustration skills
Understand through the practice of free-hand studies the principles and rules of classical composition
Explore the interrelationships between the subjects of Architecture, Interiors and Landscape and the skills to apply discoveries from one subject to another
Gain experience in studying masterworks for deeper comprehension
