Classical Lecture Series & Book Signing
In Life Along the Hudson The Historic Country Estates of the Livingston Family renowned photographer Pieter Estersohn presents sublime country homes overlooking the majestic Hudson River, offering some of the finest examples of stately American architecture built between 1730 and 1946 - all originally owned by members of the Livingston family and their descendants. Estersohn, who recently restored Staats Hall, a prominent residence located in the area and included in the book’s introduction, has long been fascinated by these enchanting homes and their histories. His photography provides one stunning interior and exterior view after another of several of these storied architectural gems, as well as their picturesque gardens and landscape designs. This insider’s perspective allows Estersohn to provide fresh insight into the historical significance of this beautiful region, which continues to lure those seeking stately and charming country retreats—as it has for centuries.
