The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) will hold a three-day architecture and design conference for up to 200 attendees in Charleston, South Carolina on November 3-5, 2023 at the historic Francis Marion Hotel, located at 387 King Street.
In conjunction with the National Conference, the ICAA will host a juried art exhibition of student and young professional work. Taking place at the historic Aiken-Rhett House in partnership with Historic Charleston Foundation, the group exhibition will be on view until November 26th. Students and young professionals, 35 years old and younger, may submit works inspired by the classical tradition for consideration. A distinguished jury with backgrounds in various design fields will carefully review all submissions and select the finest examples of classical design to include in this historic show.
Participants with selected works will be awarded a $1,000 stipend for travel and lodging, and are invited to attend the Enduring Places Conference free of charge, providing an invaluable opportunity to learn from and connect with experts in the design and architecture fields.
Submissions are due by 11:59 pm EST on May 19th, and are open to entrants who were 35 years of age or younger on November 1, 2023. Each entrant may submit up to 5 works for consideration. Categories may include, but are not limited to, drawings, paintings, watercolors, sculptures, stone work, masonry, architectural models, and furniture.
Individual objects should weigh less than 100 lbs. and be of dimensions that can pass through a 36” x 80” entrance door. Larger works that are designed to be assembled from multiple parts in a modular fashion may be accommodated
