Hosted by the ICAA Ohio Lake Erie Chapter
Published in 1959, Henry Hope Reed’s book, A Golden City, makes a pictorial argument in the controversy between “classical” and “modern” fashion in architecture and other American arts. The book was recently republished by the ICAA as part of the Classical America Series in Art & Architecture. At this symposium, Philadelphia architect Alvin Holm and Washington, DC critic Catesby Leigh will discuss Reed’s influence on their work and post-war federal policies affecting design choices.
