Hosted by the North Carolina Chapter
For Nature in the City, community historian Tom Hanchett will lead a discussion on the remarkable history of Charlotte’s first public park, Independence Park (created in 1904), and how it paved the way for our city's marvelous parks and greenways today. Jen Rothacker, Community Engagement Director of TreesCharlotte (www.treescharlotte.org), will also join us to give us a look into the history of Charlotte’s tree legacy and how civic leaders played a powerful role in making Charlotte a city of trees.
