The Chicago-Midwest ICAA invites you to join us for our first in-person member event of 2021! Len Koroski of Goettsch Partners will lead our group on a tour of their 2020 Acanthus Award of Arete Winning Project - Chicago's Union Station. The recent rehabilitation of Union Station encompasses a 10-year stewardship and preservation effort. A series of carefully planned projects over this period include the replacement of the famous marble staircases leading from the Great Hall, renovation and expansion of Amtrak’s first-class lounge, the restoration of the former Women’s Lounge as the new Burlington Room, special events space, and many other functional and technical improvements to make the station viable today. The culmination of this long-term stewardship effort is the restoration of the soaring 78,000-square-foot Great Hall—one of the nation’s most iconic and memorable public spaces—and its 18,000-square-foot vaulted skylight.
We will have cocktails at the conclusion of the tour.
