Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Residential Architect to lead and manage residential projects in South Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential architecture, an enthusiasm for traditional principles and the ability to independently oversee projects from initial concept through construction completion, ensuring design integrity and adherence to project requirements and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Delivery & Leadership: Lead multiple residential design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality control at every stage of the design and production process. Be responsible for managing a preliminary design schedule and deliverables.
• Design Development: Develop creative and functional design solutions that meet client needs and comply with local building codes and regulations with adherence to traditional design and a technical understanding of historic detailing.
• Client Engagement: Serve as a point of contact for clients, effectively communicating design concepts and project progress, and addressing any concerns or modifications.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including in-house drafting team, designers, and construction project managers, as well as external consultants and vendors. Provide ongoing technical guidance to junior team members.
• Construction Administration: Oversee the construction phase, conducting site visits to ensure projects are built according to approved plans and specifications, shop drawing review, and addressing on-site issues or questions promptly.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and manage quality control procedures throughout the design and construction process to uphold the firm's standards of excellence and stewardship.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Licensed Architect in the state of Florida, reciprocal license out of state, or on track to be licensed. Licensing opportunity and support are available.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in residential architecture, with a proven track record of managing residential architecture projects. Experience within a firm focused on traditional architecture is a plus.
• Strong understanding and passion for traditional design, technical detailing and historic precedent.
• Proficiency in design software including Revit (Preferred), AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of Florida building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices.
• Familiarity with the unique architectural styles and environmental considerations of South Florida.
• High level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and manage client relationships effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering high-quality results within established timelines.
