Hosted by the ICAA Washington Mid-Atlantic Chapter
Join the ICAA WMA for a lunchtime tour of the recently completed restoration of the Cosmos Club.
The house and ballroom were designed by Carrere & Hastings for Mary Scott Townsend with interior design by Jules Allard & Sons. At the time of completion, the house was celebrated in Architectural Record in April 1901. The restoration efforts aimed to conserve as much historic fabric as possible while preserving the historic character of the room as it was from 1901-1915. John Milner Associates Preservation served as the preservation architects and conservators for the project with contractors Whiting Turner and John Canning Studios.
David Haresign, FAIA of Bonstra | Haresign ARCHITECTS and Amanda Edwards, PA-AIC, Principal and Architectural Conservator with MTFA Design + Preservation will lead the tour.
